Long Description:

Hi there my name's Jason Lavin.

I'm 35 and I live in sunny Stoke-On-Trent. I have been operating as a Teleworker for the past two years for a London based company which specialises in numerous fields, including cutting edge communications systems, HF Radio, IT network installation, bandwidth supply and installations in hostile zones such as Iraq and Afghanistan.

The company has realigned it's focus several times and has targeted flexible working consultancy and software systems for local Government, oilfield, gas drillhead and mining communications for heavy industry and the fitness and wellbeing industries. Well, that's what you get for working for a boss who is ex- Army, a satellite communications expert, fully certified Crossfit trainer and soon to be owner of a franchise in London and who has installed communications equipment in some of the most dangerous locations in the world!

My roles have been very varied included running the back end of two Joomla websites, in which I created new pages, wrote the copy, selected the images and ensured the smooth running of the site. I had complete operational control over this area.

I've also created a large online customer CRM with over 400 contacts managed remotely and configured to our needs.

I've also a wealth of experience in web research. Given the numerous directional changes, you could say that I'm adaptable to say the least. In the last twelve months I've been involved in research on:
Flexible Working for the public sector
The live streaming of weddings on the internet
Health, nutrition and lifestyle choices
Research in the telecommunications industry in the Caspian Sea area
Setting up a business to operate in Kazakhstan (culminating in a successful trip to Almaty by the MD)
Freight supply lines for products from the USA and China to the UK

Well, you have to be flexible!

Education:
I hold a 2:2 Humanities degree from Glamorgan 1995 and a Masters in Global Marketing from Staffordshire from 1997.

Other skills:
I speak reasonable conversational French and German. I think being able to speak a little Welsh may hold me in good stead someday too!

I've worked for long periods in offices and I can honestly say I've never been as productive or as content in employment as I am whilst being a teleworker. It changes your outlook on work, home and sometimes life itself. The ability to work when and how I want from home is something I don't want to give up.
