Short Description:

Your Personal Assistant, Virtually. No project is too big or too small.

Long Description:

I am originally from Portland, Oregon. My first 'education' into the real world of business came when I was 16 years old. I wanted to be a lawyer at the time, and decided the best way to get a job at a law office was to call every law office in the phone book until some one gave me a break. It worked, and I worked after school as a receptionist for about a year. I moved around to various jobs after that and now realize that I appreciate variety in my life.

I held a few positions with Willamette Industries, Inc, a forest products company that was eventually bought out by Weyerhaeuser. I actually began my employment there, simply enough, as a receptionist in the IT department, placed by a temporary service. That was April of 1994. Over the next five years I grew into various positions, the last of which was as a Business Analyst for the AP/AR system. For this position, I worked with end user and computer programmers to create and fine tune the flow of the AP/AR system. This was during the Y2K scare so we were kept very busy making sure the company still could maintain their accounts if the world ended!

In 1999, I decided to go back to school and did. I started at Clark College in Vancouver, Washington, eventually transferring to Pierce College in Los Angeles, then again to Columbus State Community College in Columbus, Ohio, and lastly to The Ohio State University. Remember - I said I appreciate variety! Through all of those schools, all of those classes, I have yet to complete my BA degree! However, in December 2002, I graduated from Columbus State with an Associate of Arts degree with a Geography emphasis.

After moving to Ohio, I began working for a real estate appraisal company as an office manager. In 2003 the owner decided it was time to retire and move to Arizona, and he closed up shop leaving me without a job that I loved. I hit the temporary circuit again just to pay bills, while I continued to search for another job that I could love.

I received an opportunity to interview for an "office manager" position through the permanent placement division of the temporary service I was working for at the time. At the interview, I met two men, one was the CEO and the entrepreneurial spirit of the company and the other was the Controller. At this interview I was told the position of office manager meant that I would open and manage four retail income tax preparation locations. The real job title was District Director of Operations. OK, I just knew they were crazy! I didn't know anything about taxes, 1040's, or anything like that, but the opportunity sounded very interesting. A year later I would hear my boss, the CEO, refer to my position as an "MBA in a box". During my four years with this company I managed over 30 retail locations, over 100 seasonal employees, negotiated leases and facilitated store openings for approximately 30 locations throughout Ohio. By the second year I was a Regional Director of Operations. Although the business is seasonal, my position was always year-round. During the "off-season" I was responsible for completing other projects which included franchise sales, a call center/tax return preparation project in partnership with the Law Offices of Roni Lynn Deutch, and various other research projects that would benefit the company.

The CEO decided in 2007 that it was time to sell all corporate owned locations. This included my region of Cincinnati. I was provided, and am pursuing an opportunity to become a franchisee, however, as I said earlier, the business is seasonal. What would I do for the other 8 months of the year?

And Daisy Lane Online was born. I look forward to working with a variety of people on a variety of projects and allow my diverse background to work for you.
