• Devised and was actively involved with a project which aimed to establish a common process of clear requirements for centre recognition and approval across all awarding bodies. Which would reduce bureaucracy and increase choice and flexibility for centres improve centre performance, help learners and employers make informed choices about qualifications and centres, reduce the recognition and approval burden on awarding bodies .which would free the resources for centres and awarding bodies to focus on developing and delivering high-quality qualifications. Meeting the needs of employers and learners. support learning at work and regularly review the suitability and availability of qualifications, to ensure that the needs of learners, employers and the economy are met.
• Working closely with other regulators: the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA), the Department for Children, Education, Lifelong Learning and Skills (DCELLS) and the Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment in Northern Ireland (CCEA). We oversee the work of the awarding bodies, to ensure that their administration, marking and awarding procedures run smoothly.
• We also work closely with our main strategic partners, including the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF), the Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted), the Adult Learning Inspectorate (ALI), employers' organisations, the Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA), the Learning and Skills Council (LSC), the respective General Teaching Councils for England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and the Sector Skills Councils (SSC).
• Managed the team to design and maintain a web based system where members of the public who are looking to do a particular course or qualification are able to see which centre offers the best course with the best facilities
• Due to the success of 2 of my projects my team was promoted to work on the specialized diplomas which recognises a wider range of achievement than the current National Qualifications Framework through the award of credit for units and qualifications providing flexible routes to gaining full qualifications, and allow credit towards a final qualification, to be accumulated as component units are completed successfully. With the help of the It specialist was is to develop the systems and technical infrastructure capable of allowing the awarding of Diplomas from 2009, across the numerous awarding bodies contributing units to them. • Writing a new policy in compliance to the new Housing Act (HMO’s)
